Kell Island: Ready For Action. 2/5

News has arrived that a Maritime Alliance Fleet has been spotted. With the news and reinforcements came an officer of Engineers who took one look at the ramshackle earthworks and went up one side of the Captain in charge of the garrison, and down the other then set the men to work.

The Engineer accompanied by the FTC Governor inspects the new redoubt while the garrison falls in.

Three days later a better  bastion had been built  whose guns could cover both the harbour and the bridge as well allowing infantry to enfilade any assault on two faces of the fort.

Plans were under away to begin a similar bastion on the far corner of the fort when a fisherman from the village brought word that sails had been spotted approaching the pass.

The Commandant ordered the garrison to stand to.

Native Scouts from the mainland react as drummers in the fort start to beat the Long Roll.

The Battle for Light Rock Valley

Where to start? This game could have made a great Newport Noodle article or  made for a good long blow by blow post describing how the rules worked turn by turn and what affect they had on each player decision but that might have been as tedious to read as to write. So I'll quickly summarize the game in the picture captions while writing the post about the rules and how they worked in the game. The scenario, which I picked as a nod to the origin of the turn sequence which came from one of the sample games in Don Featherstone's Battles with Model Soldiers, was, as identified by Cesar Paz in a comment, "Action in the Plattville Valley" from Don Featherstone's Wargames. The Dominion (Red) Advance Guard under Brigadier Ross pushed quickly over the bridge while the main forces arrived at the end of  turn 3 (after a joker froze the 2 advance guards for turn 3). Ford Racing 3 PC Game  Overview: Empire Interactive has released Ford Racing 3, a straightforward racing game featuring 25 of the most popular Ford vehicles from the past nine decades. Like its console cousins, Ford Racing 3 for the DS is a budget title, and it offers the same brand of no-frills, arcade-style racing as those versions of the game. But, while the console versions of Ford Racing 3 have halfway decent racing mechanics and online play, the DS version has neither of these things, and it looks ugly too.
